The MMRA FIRST Lego League Teams In January an idea was conceived by members of MMRA to find a way to teach the kids of Flint, MI. that learning can be a fun and unique experience when you involve robotics and Lego’s! We had the opportunity to start up 10 FLL teams within 10 elementary schools within the city. With a generous grant, MMRA was able to provide the teams with everything that the teams needed. We purchased laptops, NXT kits, field set up, registration, software, tables, t shirts, money for spirit, 2 competition fees and food at the competitions. These schools were Dort, DTM, Cummings, Freeman, Scott, Pierce, Doyle Ryder, Carpenter and Bryant.

FLL Coaches WorkshopThe MMRA hosted a workshop to assist FIRST Lego League Coaches, both new and veteran, in running an efficient, well-rounded team. The workshop included a short, small-group introduction to each area of FLL (Technical, Core Values, Project and Team Management), and hands-on, 30-minute workshops in specific aspects of each area. All workshops were taught by coaches, judges and alumni of the FIRST Lego League program.
